(Abram^6, John^5, Nicasius^4, Simon^3, Evert^2, Jentie^1 Jeppes) was b. 22 July 1822 (Wayne County, NY) and d. 18 July 1900 (gravestone, South Lyons Cemetery). Sometimes his name is listed as "Gardiner". He was christened in the Lyons Presbyterian Church 17 Septermber 1826 (Wiles, 39). He m. Minerva [Anna] Gifford (b. 22 September 1829 and d. 21 October 1910--gravestone, South Cemetery, Lyons. In 1850, John Gardiner was a farmer in Lyons listed next door to his father, with $7,000 in real estate. They had five children. Brothers Stephen and William and sister-in-law, Aurelia, lived next door in the household of his parents. J. Gardner Van Wickle listed in Town of Lyons Directory as farmer (400) along with Stephen D. Van Wickle (Wickson & Van Wickle)

Syracuse Herald for 11 Sept 1932 lists this obit for George Van Wickle. George Van Wickle is dead at Lyons, Sept 10. George Van Wickle, 73, a prominent West Lyons farmer, died yesterday. He was a member of Humanity Lodge, T. and A.M., and Lyons Lodge of Elks. He leaves one sister, Miss Alice Van Wickle. Funeral services will take place from his late home Monday at 2PM, the Rev.
